Back by popular demand, two of our favorite maestros,
Maxi Coppello II and Karu Terenzia finishes their USA tour at Empanada Milonga, bringing their wonderful teaching style, the roots of Argentine tango, and make it fun and accessible in an all level-class geared to your desire and abilities, for both singles and couples.
Their pre-milonga workshop always draws large enthusiastic students, and Maxi and Karu will also demonstrate during the milonga! Don't miss them!!!!

Empanada Milongas's favorite tango bands is our own ORQUESTA Z, which has performed over 50 times here. always bringing in their own exciting mix of traditional, alternative, and original tango compositions.
This Sunday, the core trio, composed of Ben Jong (piano), Ruth Kravis (violin), and Sandy Schniewind will lplay their favorties, plus 3 new tangos. Always enjoyable, always fresh, they most recently played outdoors at San Francisco Union Square for the annual Tango in the Square.
DJ DON AN
Our guest DJ is the well-known and popular Don An, ​the regular host of Dance Boulevard Milonga in San Jose. Don mixes his unique music to the desires of the dancers, which means Golden Era tango, but not afraid of alternative tango.

In addition to all being life-long musicians, we are tango lovers and dancers who wish to share the passion, the joy, the sadness, and the intimacy that is unique to Argentine tango.
We feel there is room to not only enjoy the richness of the past, but to bring the present into our music, including nuevo tango and our own compositions...but being led by a director who himself is an avid dancer, we know that the key to all of our music is that dancers have to share our passion and joy we have for the tango.
This will be our 9th year of bringing live Argentine tango to the San Francisco Bay Area. As of 9/23/13 Orquesta Z is a registered California 501(c)3 non-profit.
